Silver APIs Overview
Silver provides APIs for managing health and wellness benefit claims — from checking product eligibility through claim submission to automated adjudication.
Two Audiences
Silver APIs serve two distinct audiences, each with their own API key:
Partners
Partners are platforms and merchants that integrate with Silver to offer benefit spending to their customers. Partner APIs include:
- Eligibility API — Check whether a product is eligible for FSA/HSA reimbursement before purchase or checkout.
- Claim Submission API — Submit reimbursement claims on behalf of members, including uploading supporting documents and line-item services.
Administrators (TPAs)
Administrators and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) manage benefit plans and process claims. Administrator APIs include:
- Claims API — Submit claims with evidence for automated adjudication, and retrieve detailed results including parsed receipts and invoices.
- Webhooks — Receive real-time notifications when claim adjudication completes.
API Architecture
All Silver APIs are RESTful and return JSON responses. Authentication is handled via API keys passed in the apiKey header. Each audience (partner vs. administrator) uses a separate API key.
